As part of the “PowerUp NetZero – Powering Up Net Zero Applications through the European Single Market” project, we have developed a series of webinars designed to help SMEs and startups actively shape the net-zero transformation. The series demonstrates how economic challenges and technological complexity can be translated into concrete business opportunities.
Five training sessions focus on energy storage, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, biogas and biomethane, as well as solar energy and sector coupling. Each training session consists of two parts: an “Insight” webinar featuring expert input from research and industry, and an “Application” segment with case studies and business model development. This approach teaches you how to identify, develop, and scale net-zero solutions across industries.
The goal is for SMEs to transform identified technological challenges into actionable innovation pathways and concrete market opportunities.
Target audience: SMEs, startups, and digital SMEs, with or without prior knowledge in the net-zero sector.
Format: Online, two sessions per training (Insight and Application).
Upcoming dates will be updated on this page shortly. So: stay tuned!
November 11, 2026: PowerUp NetZero Training #1 Insight | Energy Storage: The Backbone of the Energy Transition
What energy storage technologies are available, and what business potential do they hold? In this webinar, you’ll receive a concise overview of electrical, thermal, and hydrogen-based storage solutions—including their strengths, limitations, and typical applications.
Practical insights from research and industry demonstrate how energy storage stabilizes the energy system, the role that digital control systems (BMS, EMS, AI) play in performance, and how energy storage connects renewable generation with consumption across various sectors.
After the webinar, you will be able to:
- distinguish between the most important storage technologies and evaluate their advantages and disadvantages,
- describe the role of digital control systems in storage performance,
- explain how storage connects generation and consumption across sectors.
Who is this for?
Companies and individuals interested in net-zero technologies
Agenda:
To start, we’ll introduce the project and assess your prior knowledge with a brief self-assessment. This will be followed by technical presentations and business models, with time set aside at the end for your questions. Throughout the webinar, we’ll incorporate interactive segments to engage you as participants. We look forward to your active participation!
Note:
Part 2 – Application delves deeper into the content through an interactive workshop featuring case studies and business model development. The date will be updated on this page shortly.
