How to migrate a company from Industry 3.0 to Industry 4.0 with examples 

Machine Learning based solutions can improve many different aspects of company operations, but in order to take advantage of them different challenges must be addressed.

In this talk we will explain and discuss realistic examples of  companies from the secondary sector of the economy going from having no specific data structure to having a stable data structure with different data projects. The scope of the talk will cover :

  1. Data Engineering: define and create an infrastructure to collect, prepare and maintain data for exploitation, also known as a Corporate Information Factory.
  2. Data Science: how to define data projects. A lot of projects do not end with the initial scope or expected timeframe because of poor planning, we’ll review how to plan a data project.
  3. Business Intelligence: possible tools, how and when to use them.
  4. Machine Learning: examples of projects, both for analysis and production.
  5. Industry 4.0: examples of how all the above allows a company to enter what is know as AI-driven industry or Industry 4.0

Each of the parts will have examples and be reviewed in 5 points:

  • Definition: what is the need to cover and what tool to use to cover it.
  • Tools and technologies: What kind of tools are available, and how to choose the right one for your use case.
  • Planification: what is the expected timetable, what are the steps for implementation
  • Risks: what are the risk of this type of project, what to expect and how to mitigate
  • Maintenance: once is done, how do we keep it working and how do we upgrade if needed.

This talk is given by two members of Fragile Technologies: Gabriel Rul-lan, our machine-human translator, and Guillem Duran our AI-whisperer. We are a team of freelancers that have worked on projects related to data of all stages, from companies without existing infrastructure to critical AI services that were working on production.
